Highs and Lows of Life

Reading through Psalm makes me realize how David's life was a lot of highs and a lot of lows. When he was at his low, he described it as being in miry clay and sinking. When he was in the lowly place, he still cried out to God to save him plus he praised God too! During those times he exalted God, knowing where his help comes from. So many times, we get caught up in our situation and forget to praise Him for the work He is doing in our lives.

Even in my life, the struggles are real! As one cousin pointed out to me that I tend to be a people pleaser. I battle back and forth with this issue. There's only one person who I need to fear, and that is God Himself.

I wrote this poem some time ago...some of it rhymes and some don’t.

I don't like you and you don't like me

But if we're both Christians, guess where we'll be for all of eternity.

What is it that you don't like about me

And what is it that I don't like about you?

Is it the green-eyed monster?

If it's jealousy, what is it that I see in you that I dislike about me

And what is it that you see in me that you dislike about you.

How can we stop this nonsense and go forward?

If we are His and He is ours, then there's no place for this sour tower of envy and strife.

We are to lay down our lives because He first loved us.

I end this with the scripture from Psalm 72:18-19

18 Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel,

Who alone works wonders.

19 And blessed be His glorious name forever;

And may the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen and Amen
